On September 20th the project partner IMT organized internal workshop at its premises in Evry (France). Current state of Machine Learning based algorithms for use with ultrasound were discussed. Every partner present (IMT, BUT, UTIA, TNO, SINTEF and IMEC) participated in fruitfull discussions. At the end of the day, everyone left with vision of steps that need to be done to reach the common goal, to have functional chain from ultrasound sensor to machine learned algorithm.

From 6th to 7th November 2019 the SILENSE partnership will have its next meeting, organized by our Czech partner IMA. More information for consorcium partners can be found here.

On 18th of July 2019 the SILENSE partnership had its second review meeting in Brussels. Current status of every work package and demo was presented. The reviewers evaluated achievements and were amazed by progress made in the second year of the project. After successful review every partner is now fully focusing on the third and last year of the project to reach all set goals.

During the last week of May our SILENSE partnership had already its fifth meeting; this time hosted by our Norwegian partner SINTEF at the premises of Meet Ullevaal with lovely view on National Football Stadium in Oslo. Almost all partners joined the meeting and carried out multiple presentations on results of their work after two years of the project. The main topics of the two-day meeting were: overview of each work package, current status of demonstrators, standardization overview and notes on dissemination & exploitation.

In the frame of European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems (EFECS), which was held in Lisbon this year, the project representatives from BUT, NXP and Infineon actively promoted the SILENSE project during the exhibition of ECSEL, AENEAS and EUREKA projects. Our project booth was attended by numerous visitors, representing other projects, research organizations and policy makers from all over the Europe. These visitor were interested especially in the project's ambitions, actual intentions and the results achieved so far.

Our SILENSE partnership had its fourth meeting; this time hosted by our British partner Speedo in their London office. With some exceptions all partner joined the meeting and carried out a lively debate on the latest developments of their technologies and respective integration into all the demonstrators. These are the cornerstone of the project and will need the full support of all work packages. It is equally important that the demonstrators clearly indicate their requirements to advance jointly and swiftly.

For the development of the Smart Acoustic Wearable System demonstrator, channel soundings and ambient noise measurements were performed recently at the TNO premises in The Hague with assistance from NXP and Elliptic Labs. During this channel sounding campaign, ultrasound probe signals in two bandwidths (2-36kHz & 18-24kHz) were transmitted using a tweeter and received by six microphones.

During the last days of October 2017 TU Berlin hosted the first progress meeting of the Silense project in the very nice premises of Fraunhofer IZM in Berlin. More than 40 participants from all project partners have met together to review the actual status of the work carried out in all workpackages.

SILENSE Kick-off meeting was held in Leuven, Belgium on the 8^th of June. More than 50 participants from all project partners had an opportunity to meet together, understand the project objectives and discuss the upcoming actions to achieve the proposed goals of the project. Planned work in all WPs has been presented and discussed so that the tasks can start smoothly and keep the necessary interconnections between all packages and in line with the project proposal.
